It's all about MJ!

Well hullo there...I guess you were curious about who was behind this blog....well that would be me, MJ!

I grew up the north of England, Grimsby to be precise.  I have some amazing memories of living there and still have a fear of snow and ice - too many freezing cold winters, I recall spending much of my time trying to not fall on my arse while walking or should I say slipping and sliding my way to school everyday!

Thanks to the wonderful world of Facebook I've had an opportunity to reconnect with many of my mates from school, which has been ....erm....interesting!  It's funny the things people remember about you, especially those embarrassing things you've been trying so hard to forget for the past 20 odd years!!

Anyway, I came to live in the Great land of Oz (Australia) way back in 1984, back when I was a young slip of a girl!  I arrived here with my parents and sissy.  I lived in NSW for a fair few years, had 3 kidlettes and then headed off to Queesnland, "Beautiful one day, Perfect the next".  On my arrival, single mum, kids in tow, it rained non-stop for about 6 weeks, no one told me about the 'wet season'!!

Well jumping ahead a little, I met a wonderful chappy, Steve who was crazy enough to marry me!  I know ....who in their right mind would do that?

Hubby and I, all 4 kids and both our dads and my mum.

Here we are though, 10 years later and still happily married.....we're both sporting grey hair and wrinkles but that's ok with me!

We  live in a little 'blink and you miss it' town in Central Queensland, well at least Steve, the boys and I do ......the girls are living in the big smoke (Brisbane) with #1 Grandson. 

I run an aged care facility in town, I'm sure the last 20 years of working in aged care has caused me to 'catch' bad eyesight and a touch of dementia....or maybe that is just the effects of living with teenage boys!!
