A New Pyramid :)

So we've all seen the 'healthy food pyramid' right?

I think the current trend when anyone goes on a 'diet' nowadays is they try to swap the 'breads, cereal , rice and pasta' group at the bottom, with the 'meat, poultry' bit.

You know that whole more protein less carbs things, like the Atkins Diet.

So after my doco watching fest yesterday (lol), I have decided that I'm going to look more into the benefits and risks of 'fasting' (drinking only juice for a specified period of time).  A lot of people who have stuck to it boast weight loss but more importantly they 'feel healthier'.  They claim to have more energy after a few days ....that can't be a bad thing can it?

So of course there is a new pyramid to look at, one I quite like as I LOVE fruit n' veg :)

I've been eating very well for the past couple of weeks now and it's recommended that anyone looking at 'fasting' should spend at least a week reducing the amount of meat and junk that you'd normally eat.  I'm not a huge meat eater, the one thing I do love is my coffee so I'll try to reduce that a little more - or I know I'll be in agony with withdrawals from that!

I've decided that I'll do the '5 Day Reboot' of course, anyone who is following this blog will know that my #1 obstacle was that I have no juicer lol, that will hopefully be rectified tomorrow.  I've done some research and I've whittled it down to a chose between 2 models.

The one on the left is a Breville Juice Fountain $99.

The one on the right is the Breville Juice Fountain Plus $149.

Both have very good reviews, so I think it's going to come down to how easy they are to pull apart/put together and how easy they are to clean.  If any readers have experience with either machine, you're input here would be GREAT!

So I'm not sure how successful my shopping trip will be tomorrow, living out in the sticks can certainly have its drawbacks when it comes to trying to have a bit of choice really!  It may come down to the fact that I'll either have to settle for what is on offer OR I put the whole thing on hold until I can really get what I want!

Any Hoo thats about it for now folks :)
